Dear Jaguar Community:

 

Happy summer Jaguars! We wish all of our families and students a restful, enjoyable, and safe summer break. Our Jaguar staff will be resting and preparing for an awesome 2017-18 school year! As August approaches (it will be here before you know it), please be aware of the upcoming important dates:

 

SRVUSD Parent Portal Update:  July 26th - August 31st
Each fall, San Ramon Valley Unified parents are asked to complete an online “Annual Update” to verify household and emergency contact information and complete annual release acknowledgement and permission requirements.  Iron Horse families are being asked to complete this update between July 26th and August 31st.

 

Iron Horse Online Registration:  August 1th - August 10th

Registration at Iron Horse is a separate process from the District Parent Portal Annual Update.  IH Registration is completely online this year! There will NOT be a walk-thru process.  Distribution of PE clothes, binder reminders, and PE locks will occur after the start of school.  School photos will be taken in PE classes once school starts. Yearbooks will be sold through this process as well.

 

Welcome Coffee/Registration Help:  August 10th 7:30am-10:30am Library

PTA will be hosting a Welcome Coffee to greet parents for the new school year.  This is a great opportunity for incoming parents to meet some of Iron Horse’s fabulous staff and teachers, Ed Fund and PTA representatives.  Assistance will be available for those who need help completing their Iron Horse Online Registration and for those families who want to pay their donations by check.

 

Jaguar Camp for Incoming 6th graders & New Students - August 10th 9:00am-12:00pm MPR
Calling all incoming 6th grade students and new students to Iron Horse… Join us for a fun day to meet up with old friends and make new ones at your new school!  You’ll have an opportunity to take a tour of the campus, participate in field games, and have lunch with your classmates.  6th grade students will receive their class schedules at the end of camp.

 

First Day of School – Monday, August 14 – 8:15 am – 11:40 am (min day)
The first day of school is on a minimum day schedule. Students will dismiss at 11:40 am.

UPDATED 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION

SRVUSD Annual Update

San Ramon Valley Unified parents are asked to complete an online "Annual Update" to verify household and emergency contact information and complete the annual release acknowledgement and permission requirements.

 

Complete the District Online Annual Update using your Parent Portal in Infinite Campus.

 

The Annual Update window for the 2017-18 school year is scheduled to open on July 26, 2017 for Iron Horse Middle School. At that time you will be prompted to log into your Parent Portal account to complete this important task for the new school year. Check your Portal "Inbox" for a message titled "Annual Update Fall Registration". This message will guide you through the Annual Update process. 

 

Only one Annual Update is required for each family at a primary address. The message will continue to appear in your inbox until the end of the Annual Update period. Please disregard the message once you have completed this process, you will receive a confirmation email upon completion.

 

Iron Horse Registration

Registration Dates for the 2017-18 School Year : Opens March 2, 2017

 

**If your child is currently a 5th grader at Bollinger Canyon, Golden View, Montevideo or Twin Creeks Elementary School, you do not need to enroll at Iron Horse.  These elementary schools are feeder schools to Iron Horse so your child is automatically in our 2017-18 enrollment.  You will need to do the annual update once the Annual Update process opens.  This is to update your contact information in the districts database (emergency contacts, cell phones, etc). 

 

 

To enroll a student, please follow these steps:

1) Log-on to the district website and complete the on-line application first:

2) After completing the on-line application, please make an appointment with Iron Horse and bring your required documents to your scheduled appointment. Click here to schedule your appointment:

** Please note that if you are enrolling for the current school year (2016-17) call the counseling office at (925) 790-2580 to make an immediate appointment to enroll.

 

Required Paperwork to bring to your appointment:

 

1. Print out of your on-line application/summary.

2. Students original birth certificate OR passport.

3. Students immunization records from a physician.

4. Parent/Guardians original & current picture ID (Driver's license,

    CA issued ID, Passport, Military ID )

5. Original mortgage statement, escrow closing papers indicating sale

    has already closed, grant deed, property tax bill OR

    lease-rental agreement which states the property address, names of occupants

    living there (students name must appear) and signed by both parties

    (no copies accepted)

6. AND a current PG&E or water bill with name and address listed

    (within 45 days for new home purchases/rentals)

How to Access your Child's Grades

Accessing your child’s grades:

 

Please use either Fire Fox or Google Chrome as your browser when setting up this account. 

 

Go to https://campus.srvusd.net/campus/portal/sanRamon.jsp

  • Once you are logged in go to the top of the screen to “Select a Student” and drop down to your students name
  • On the far left of the screen click on “Reports”
  • Select the report you are looking for (e.g. 1st semester ending grades click on “Portal 1st Semester Grade Report”)

Please note that semester grades are the only grade that gets posted to transcript

  • To see your students entire academic history click on “Transcripts”.  This will include previous years in middle school. 

Forgot your password?

1.    Click on the Forgot your password link on the Campus login screen. Enter your Campus username. An email will be sent to your recovery email address.

2.    Click the unique hyperlink contained within the email. You will be directed to a new screen where you can enter a new password for your account.

3.     Enter your new password and save. You can now log into Campus using your existing Campus username and the new password.


Forgot your username?

1.    Click on the Forgot username link on the Campus login screen.

2.    Input your Recovery email address in the field. Click Continue. An email will be sent to that email address with you username information. Use the link in the email to log into the portal.

 

If you are still having issues logging in or don't remember what your recovery email is please contact portalhelp@srvusd.net for help. Please include your name and the issue are you having.

TRAFFIC SAFETY

Traffic Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Safety of our students, staff, and parents is our number one priority during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-ups. As you prepare for drop-off and pick-ups, please consider the following alternatives to utilizing our front parking lot which can become very busy:

  • IHMS overflow parking lot adjacent to the track
  • San Ramon Transit Center (“Intermodal”) along Executive Parkway – we staff the Transit Center 15 minutes before the start of school and 15 minutes after dismissal.

If you must use the front parking lot, please follow the directions of staff members, be courteous to other drivers, and stay off your cell phones. Safety comes first!

Carpool Incentive Program

On behalf of the school community, thank you for making it a priority to leave a little earlier and exercise safe driving habits! I continue to encourage our families to participate in carpools to help alleviate traffic during drop-off and pick-up times. This is a great practice anytime! As an incentive, we are raffling off $25 Starbuck's gift cards on a monthly basis. To be entered, please register as a carpool participant using the linked Google Form below.

Dine-In or Take Out Nights

Coming UP!!! Mountain Mike's Fundraiser

Hello Iron Horse Families!  As you are getting settled with the start of the school year, we have developed a NEW program to help you support IHMS and your child's education.  Dine-In or Take-Out events!  Our first is Mountain Mike's on Wednesday, August 30th.  Mountain Mikes will donate 30% of your order to IHMS (Alcohol and Buffet not included).  Bring in the attached flyer, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting Iron Horse.  THE MORE WE EAT THE MORE WE RAISE!
